People come and go.
This might be the most cliche statement of all time. It makes me feel weird even saying it. But it’s real. It’s the most real statement I have today.
Some people are with you for your whole life. For me, my constants have been my momma and my grandmomma. The two people who are there for me no matter what. The day or time doesn’t matter. If I call, then they are there with some type of advice or words of encouragement that will help calm me, shift my focus, or just make me smile. I love that I have those constants in my life every single day.
The crazy thing is that they call me at just the right times. My grandmomma especially! I can be sad and down or just in my head and Alberta will ring my line! It feels good to know that we are connected in that way. She has a voice that truly makes me feel safe and warm. Tears dry up immediately and my mind clears. She’s simply the best. Better than all the rest.
Momma is right there with her. With her it’s different. She shows up physically better than anyone in my whole life. If I need her she will drive a thousand miles to get to me. She shows up when I need her, and her hugs and embrace make me feel safe.
I am a constant in my life. I forget that at times. I am the only “person” who is with me all the time. I forget how strong I am. I forget how much power I have. Checking back in with myself brings me back to life. The only one who knows all of my secrets, besides my Creator, is me. That’s a lot of weight to hold if you think about it. Like all of my stuff, I know it and no other human knows it. Being able to have mental check-ins or conversations with myself helps keep me straight.

Now some people aren’t meant to stay in your life forever. That is sometimes a shiity thing. Like I would love to be around and experience some people more than I am able to. But those exits are needed. It would be like a teacher in the classroom teaching the same lesson over and over. When you understand the lesson, then it is time to move on. On to the next lesson.
I have to think about life in the same way. Someone enters my life, I check in with THE ONE, and I get the “Lesson Complete” memo, then I am able to let go. I know that as long as I am living and being honest with myself, my feelings, and being respectful of myself and others, and doing it all with LOVE, then I’m on the right path.
People come and go. I appreciate every single encounter, whether the experience has been desirable or not. Lessons were learned. Growth was and still is being achieved. It’s all love.
Think about who your constants are in your life. Thank them. Appreciate them.
Don‘t forget to thank yourself. Show appreciation to yourself. You deserve all the love, recognition, and grace too.
Love yourself, girl!
